Ramiz Raja Confirms ODI World Cup 2023 Plans, "If India Don't Come..."

 Ramiz Raja, the head of the Pakistan Cricket Board, has reiterated that the Indian cricket team will not play in the ICC ODI World Cup in India if they do not compete in the Asia Cup, which will be hosted in Pakistan next year. Notably, the Asia Cup will take place in 2023 before the ODI World Cup in 2019. Ramiz emphasised that Pakistan has played excellent cricket over the past two years and has twice defeated India (T20 World Cup 2021 and Asia Cup 2022). If India chooses not to visit Pakistan for the Asia Cup, Ramiz claimed that the PCB's position on the topic is unwavering.

"Our stance is unequivocal: if they (the Indian squad) come, we'll attend the World Cup; if not, let them. They should compete without Pakistan. Who will watch the World Cup if Pakistan does not take part in it when it is held in India the following year? We'll take a forceful stance since our team is performing well, we participated in the T20 World Cup final, and we defeated the cricket team that generates the most revenue worldwide. I've always maintained that we need to boost Pakistan's cricket industry, and that can only happen if our team succeeds, as it did in the 2021 T20 World Cup.
